LOS ANGELES – The series Mindhunter is inspired by some of the scariest serial killers in America, but in the hands of acclaimed film director David Fincher, do not expect it to look or sound like any other serial-killer show.

The famously finicky filmmaker behind stylish psychological thrillers such as Gone Girl (2014), Panic Room (2002) and Fight Club (1999) brought his cinematic sensibilities to the Netflix drama – and that meant the cast also got to experience his practice of making actors do dozens and dozens of takes.
