SINGAPORE – Twenty-three-year-old Nicholas Chan made history two months ago when he became the first graduate of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to be accepted into the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Mr Chan, who had dropped out of secondary school, trained as a nursing student in ITE, before scoring well enough to enter Nanyang Polytechnic’s nursing course.
